Fashion on the Move – Dandy Star AW13

We were delighted to be able to review some of the autumn / winter 2013 range from fashion house Dandy Star and so we took the opportunity to try out their designs on a day trip to try and spot some hot air balloons.

We headed for a great country park at Ashton Court, just outside of Bristol, to spend some magical moments watching the balloons taking off.

If you’re looking for a day trip out in the South West of England this is a perfect place on a clear day to see balloons preparing for flight – there’s nothing like hearing the hiss of the gas canisters and seeing the balloons floating by. They take off so gracefully that it’s bewitching for children. Ashton Court also offers loads of space to run free, hunt for conkers in the autumn and grab hot drinks in the courtyard cafe.

We love Dandy Star for their independent spirit and the fact that, the dress aside, their clothes work for boys or girls. They come in the most gorgeous cotton, one that they say they’ve developed as a soft cotton “reminiscent of the t-shirts we declared favourite as kids and never took off.” Many of their clothes also come in adult sizes too which I’ve already got my eye on – particularly the Tattoo top.

We are big Dandy Star fans and love their retro yet still glam feel (they use lots of glitter in a really cool way!). We are featuring the very cool Tatoo top (in dusk blue with with silver glitter), the Glitter dress in lilac and the ‘Hero’ sweatshirt.

We really love simple days out with a little twist of some special added. A sunny Autumn walk topped off with the magic of hot air balloons rising and drifting away was a perfect weekend trip out.

If the skies are clear we would recommend heading to Ashton Court on the edge of Bristol for the best balloon spotting around.

Dandy Star provided us with clothes for the purpose of this review.
