Hotel Review – Los Angeles – The Magic Castle Hotel

Posted on July 25, 2013

The Magic Castle Hotel is next door to the Magic Castle Club – a real Hollywood landmark where you can watch the best magicians. Personally I didn’t want to leave the hotel – with a heated pool and all the perks, it’s difficult to tear yourself away!

Absolutely great location for Hollywood – they’re one block from the Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

You can have single rooms which are like hotel rooms, or one and two bedroom suites which have a lounge area with sofa beds for additional sleeping and a small kitchen area. They provide cots.

The best bits:

This hotel really does go above and beyond all expectations. It has the standard ticks of free wifi and
bathrobes, slippers etc….but that is not the half of it. Forget about the pricey minibar with tiny snacks to ignore…the Magic Castle provides all snacks and drinks free. Yes, really!! And for an American-food starved Brit arriving jet-lagged that meant armfuls of hershey’s chocolate, rootbeer and an array of candies. Move out of the way kids!!!

If you are jet-lagged and it’s the middle of the night they’ll even deliver their free snacks to your room!! They’re available 24 hours a day.

Breakfast is equally plentiful and also complimentary…and if there’s something you’re missing, let them know and they’ll pick it up for you for the following morning!!

Worth bearing in mind:

The hotel is slightly faded around the edges, but to be honest this really does just add to its charm. This feels like a hotel with history and it is so different from any usual hotel stay I will be amazed if you don’t love it.

Child Friendly?

Uh…about as child-friendly as you can get!! Bath ducks and wacky glasses in the bedrooms for them as little arrival gifts, free ice lollies (popsicles) while they’re swimming in the pool, child-sized bathrobes and slippers and of course all of those free snacks…this hotel is a child’s dream (and an adults!!)
