UK Day Trip – Westonbirt Arboretum

Posted on July 10, 2013

Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire is a wonderful Victorian forest which is perfect for seeing the change in the seasons first-hand.

1. why go?

It’s a great open-space for long walks no matter what the weather or season. We love going to places where the children can just let their imagination run free and it’s ideal for running through the trees, collecting conkers, seeing the first spring bulbs and just going for a good old stomp about!

2. What else is there to do for children?

They have an amazing play area which blends so nicely into the woodland setting with tunnels to explore and animals to spot.

3. And for grown-ups?

There is a great cafe for hot soup or ice creams, depending on the season! And there’s a shop for lovely home and garden accessories and a plant shop for inspiring you to recreate a bit of Wesotnbirt when you get home!!

4. Ready to visit?

It’s great anytime of year so what are you waiting for?! 🙂

And if you do already love Westonbirt, when is your favourite time of year to go? Let me know!
